FEEDBACK ON LAB 6
SHOOTING EXERCISE
Students didn’t get that the exercise is multiple shots, in camera.. stress in handout
We need an example, shown in the Lecture.
Define a space should be clear as a small area, not “Hunter”
Capture a feeling is good. Make it simple. One key idea.
No time to upload. Since it is an exercise the idea of keeping it for next term.
Make saving the file optional.
TAs had good feedback.
LETS HAVE THEM DO A SHOT LIST THE WEEK BEFORE
ALSO - How to grade? + and check,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
What can we do to enrich the experience online...
Could we have the lessons online...
Different levels, so you could add more -
What about enriched experience ... more web links to interesting stuff...
Could they improve their videos.
What could we do iif someone already knows the specific topic?
Kalim assigned a problem: How to make a popup window... as a ‘behavior in Dreamweaver.

my students did get the idea that they should shoot multiple shots. however, maybe half of them veered from the assigned 'topic' and just shot for composition - not theme.
once more, we didn't have time to share the results and spent a ton of time converting the files.
creating a shot list helped some and i think as written above that creating shot lists in the lab prior might be a good idea. or have them write shot lists outside of class.
also, could we pair them up in the prior lab and have them meet outside of class in order to think about what they will shoot?
is there any way to have them shoot outside of lab time? probably not, but i think anything to allow more time for feedback would be nice. that said, i think if the idea is to get their feet wet, then this lab did the trick.

as noted above there was not time to upload - but the real problem was the file format. even if they DID have time to embed them in their portfolio sites, or even in their blogs, the file format would not be viewable.
