Let us know how it went ... Congrats on getting through the first week (all of you but Ghen, who still has to teach Saturday. Sorry!)

We got statements and photos up without any profound glitches... and had time (small classes) to go around and introduce each other to each other. Peter was great support. I look forward to next week.

based on our meeting last night, it seems we should revise the photo file on the main portfolio page so that's it's a JPEG. this would mean the labs wouldn't have to go into photoshop the first class, which is probably overkill. cropping the picture isn't necessary because if it loads and looks bad or out of proportion, they can learn how to fix in when they learn photoshop.

this is a bit overdue... i had them work on their artist statements through most of the first class - because we met before the first lecture. for the actual first lab, i did have them open Photoshop, alter their images, and open up Dreamweaver. needless to say, this was too much for the first lab.
not everyone got their pics embedded, but everyone got their text in there. after the feedback, as stated above, we should have used preview to make the photos into gifs and skipped the photoshop - and let the photos look wonky until we got to Photoshop later on.
